Chicken Wild Rice Soup

Submitted by: Linda Parady - Annandale, MN

-cook a whole fryer or 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut up and set
aside
-boil wild rice in remaining chicken stock, add add'l water depending on
how much you want to make,
-boil about 1 1/2 cups wild rice until it starts to pop, about 45 min to an
hour (he recommends using broken wild rice vs. long grain)
-add chicken bouillon (to taste)
-adequate amts. of salt and pepper (to taste)
-1 Tbs. onion and garlic powder (not the salt type)
-1 Tbs. poultry seasoning (to taste)
-cut up 1/2 onion into fine pieces
-cut up about 2-3 carrots and celery stocks into fine pieces
-add vegetables cook until tender
-add cut up chicken
-add either 1/2 or 1 pt of 1/2 and 1/2 for color
-thicken with either corn starch or flour

Taste often, add additional seasoning to your taste, I added a lot of chicken bouillon, but you could probably add more poultry seasoning which ever you like.

This recipe taste's wonderful, I made it last weekend for my in-laws and they even liked it!!!
